Da Nang is set to host a vibrant cultural festival, ‘Da Nang-Republic of Korea Week’, from August 16 to 18 at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park. This exciting event promises to showcase the best of both cultures with a range of performances, exhibitions, and activities. According to the city’s Department of Foreign Affairs, the opening ceremony will feature art troupes from Da Nang and the Republic of Korea (RoK), as well as a Taekwondo demonstration by students from Keimyung University. The Honam Women’s Nongak troupe, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage from the RoK, will also grace the stage with their traditional instrument performance and Korean arts. According to ASEAN Secretariat News, economic ministers from the four ASEAN member states, namely Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, together with their counterparts from Australia and New Zealand, signed the 2nd Protocol, which upgrades the original AANZFTA Agreement which entered into force on January 1, 2010. The 13th Vietnam Student Sports Festival in the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held in Ansan city on August 19-20, as reported by VNA. The municipal High Command has submitted a plan for fireworks shows to the municipal People’s Committee for approval, according to Lam Ngo Hoang Anh, office chief at the municipal Department of Culture and Sports. The plan includes a high-altitude fireworks display near the Thu Thiem Tunnel and a low-altitude pyrotechnic show at Dam Sen Theme Park on September 2. The department has also proposed organizing hot-air balloon shows on Nguyen Thien Thanh Street in Thu Duc City on September 2 and 3. In addition, the city will hold a photo exhibition and pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.
