Vietnam Debunks False Claims of Ha Long Bay’s UNESCO Status Revocation

A senior official from Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has refuted claims suggesting that Ha Long Bay could be removed from the UNESCO World Heritage List. In a recent interview with VTC News , the official dismissed the rumors, providing clarity on the actual purpose of UNESCO’s upcoming visit. Additionally, a representative from the expert group representing Vietnam at the World Heritage Committee also refuted the misinformation in an interview with Tuoi Tre newspaper on Monday. The representative clarified that Vietnam has invited a team of UNESCO experts to assess the implementation of eight new recommendations provided by UNESCO and to discuss conservation risks to Ha Long Bay. Macaques Flourish in Vietnam’s Pristine National Park: A Story of Ecological Rehabilitation

Vu Quang National Park, located in Ha Tinh’s Vu Quang District, is home to a four-hectare island in Ngan Truoi Lake, which serves as a sanctuary for monkeys being reintroduced into the wild. The island provides a safe space for these primates to readapt to their natural habitat, with staff closely monitoring their progress. Over 25 monkeys have been released on the island in the past year, in collaboration with the Animals Asia Foundation. Of these, 12 remain, including stump-tailed macaques, an Assam macaque, northern pig-tailed macaques, and Indochinese rhesus macaques. The rest have ventured out to other areas within the park.
