“Drug Scandal Rocks Vietnamese Football: 5 Players Suspended After Failed Tests”

Five prominent football players have been banned from participating in national tournaments organized by the VFF due to their alleged involvement in drug-related activities. The players, including goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan, center-back Nguyen Ngoc Thang, and midfielders Dinh Thanh Trung, Nguyen Van Truong, and Nguyen Trung Hoc, are currently in police custody as the investigation unfolds. The situation came to light last Saturday when police raided a local hotel in Ha Tinh Province. The five players were found in the company of a group suspected of drug-related activities, leading to their immediate suspension from football activities. Among the players, Dinh Thanh Trung, a former member of the Vietnamese national team, was the recipient of the Vietnam Golden Ball in 2017. On the evening of May 19, the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting reported moderate to heavy rainfall in the Northeast region, with an average of 30-60mm. Meanwhile, the Northwest region, along with Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, experienced more intense weather with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rainfall in these areas ranged from 40-80mm, with some locations surpassing 150mm. Ha Nam hosts Japan traditional art exchange

Japanese artists introduced Kyogen, the first comedic art form in Japan with a history of 650 years to Vietnamese audiences. The UNESCO-recognised World Cultural Heritage mainly describes the daily life of ordinary people in the middle age. The event is also part of the Ha Nam Culture and Tourism Week held from May 14 to May 20 which will see a wide range of activities, including art performances, a firework show, afirst hot air-balloon festival, and a trade fair displaying. In 2022, the Ha Nam People’s Committee and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam successfully organised and an exchange programme on Kyogen and Cheo singing traditional art. Ho Chi Minh was always interested in culture, education, and respect for talent.
