Flag-raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square: A symbol of Vietnam’s immortality On September 2, 1945, the national flag of Vietnam was first raised in Ba Dinh Square as President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, marking the birth of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Colorful hot-air balloons fill sky over Quy Nhon in Vietnam

The provincial tourism authority on Tuesday afternoon kicked off the first-ever hot-air balloon festival of this coastal locality at Quy Nhon Square, located in the namesake city. The festival will last from April 25 to May 5. According to the event organizer, free-floating hot-air balloon rides begin at 6:00 am every day, with each balloon basket accommodating two passengers and one pilot. The free-floating hot-air balloon flights last 45-60 minutes each, traveling at a height of 300-500 meters and a distance of 5-10 kilometers since the launch. As for tethered balloons, the rides are available between 5:30 am and 7:30 am, carrying 2-3 passengers and one pilot on each flight. The balloons will rise 30-50 meters into the air for five minutes. Vietnam strikes gold at Aerobic World Cup 2023 in Japan

The Vietnamese team comprised of Le Hoang Phong, Nguyen Che Thanh, Nguyen Viet Anh, Vuong Hoai An, and Tran Ngoc Thuy Vi won a gold medal with 19,844 points in the group event, leaving behind the French team with 19,167 points and the Japanese with 18,544 points. Ly Son district is currently home to two festivals named national intangible cultural heritages, Feast and Commemoration Festival for Hoang Sa Soldiers and Tu Linh boat racing festival. The event is to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives over the centuries guarding the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly). South Korea’s Chef Show 2023 with the debut held on May 5 won over audiences in Hanoi.   This is a non-verbal performance program that focuses on the artist’s expressions. At Bibap Restaurant, the group of eight performers took on the role of chefs. Visitors discover beauty of photography with Belgian photographer

Elodie Ledure, a photographer from Belgium, will present her creative works through various activities in Hanoi this month during her visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation in Vietnam to celebrate European Day (May 9) and the International Biennial Photo Hanoi’23. Accordingly, she will hold a solo exhibition Orange Wounds at the National Library of Vietnam, Hanoi, from May 10 to 16.  The 38-year-old photographer will join the collective exhibition with international artists on the theme of La Mode at the Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Zone from May 12 to 30.  According to Elodie Ledure, Orange Wounds evokes fragility by questioning women.
