With the uplifting theme “Joining Hands to Create a Peaceful World,” the 2024 Festival for Peace commenced on the evening of July 6th, on the southern bank of the Hien Luong-Ben Hai Special National Historical Site, in Quang Tri Province. This festival, a first for Quang Tri, is a celebration of peace and a showcase of Vietnam and its people’s culture and hospitality. The event holds significant meaning as it marks the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Agreement, which brought an end to the First Indochina War and restored peace to the region. It also serves as a tribute to Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs, remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country. “Peace” and “Love” in multiple languages, symbolizing the festival’s theme. Hanoi’s Lakeside Gem: A Walk Around Ngoc Khanh Lake

The Ba Dinh District People’s Committee has announced that the Ngoc Khanh Lake area will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly space on weekends. To create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, the district authorities plan to introduce a range of new services and amenities in the Ngoc Khanh Lake area. This includes paving roads, sidewalks, and promenades with stones, as well as increasing the number of trees to ensure a density of one tree per 5m2.
