The city’s art troupe will be playing “bài chòi,” a unique combination of a card game and theater performance. The troupe will also feature folk dances and musical performances. Notably, “bài chòi” has been recognized as a UNESCO world intangible cultural heritage and can be seen performed in Hoi An every weekend. It can be found in various forms of folklore, fairy tales, prayers to gods, customs and traditions, riddles, storytelling, and singing genres such as “kôt” and “eirei”. Linh Nga Nie Kdam, a researcher of Central Highlands folklore, explains, “In the past, the Ede people used customary law to judge people’s sins.
