The Paris Olympics witnessed a postponement in the men’s triathlon and a reshuffling of training sessions as adverse weather conditions caused a spike in bacteria levels in the Seine, impacting the water quality. “Recent tests indicate a decline in the river’s water quality following the rainfall over the past two days,” the organizers explained in a statement. They further elaborated, “Consequently, the water conditions at the competition venue on Sunday, September 1st, are unfit for swimming and exceed the standards set by World Triathlon.” In a proactive move, the organizers rescheduled the 11 para triathlon medal events, initially spread across two days, to a single day, September 1st, due to weather-related concerns.
