International photography festival opens in HCM City

The main aim of the six-day event is to introduce Vietnamese landscapes and people to international friends. It also offers an excellent opportunity for both local and international artists to meet and exchange their respective experiences on the art of photography.

The highlight of the occasion will be a 500-outstanding-photo exhibition featuring beautiful landscapes and people’s cultural life from throughout the country.

A number of activities will also be held during the course of the event, such as a seminar on contemporary photography, exchanges between local and foreign artists, as well as a photo marathon and photo tour contests.

Moreover, a range of equipment and new technology used in photography will also be put on display.

This year’s contest has attracted 5,834 entries by 534 photographers from 36 countries and territories worldwide.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, concurrently in Bahrain, played host to a special screening of the film “The Tailor” on May 15. The event was part of the 2024 FrancoFilm Festival, a celebration of French-speaking cinema organized by the French Embassy in collaboration with the Alliance Française in Bahrain. The City of Eternal Spring Resonates with UNESCO’s International Gong Festival

Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of the Da Lat City People’s Committee, pledged to host a series of international music events over the next three years. This commitment was made at the 2024 Annual Conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, held in Braga, Portugal, from July 1 to 3. According to Tu, the city, in collaboration with Ernesto Ottone R., UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture, has outlined a number of international initiatives centered around music. These include a Southeast Asia gong festival, aimed at preserving and celebrating the gong culture, as well as showcasing the cultural heritage of Vietnam’s Central Highlands region.
