Hanoians flock to Red River dyke for photos with white reeds

Located near Co Linh Street, just on the opposite side of Gia Lam Heliport, the dyke slope is easy to recognize as the white reed flowers, which are about knee high, stand out on a green background of grass and stretch across a large space.

The scenery is poetic, idyllic like in the countryside and quickly emerges as an Instagrammable spot.

On weekends and even weekdays, the place is crowded as people flock to take pictures.

“I saw many friends taking pictures at this beautiful reed field on Facebook, so I wanted to stop by to take some, too,” said Mai Anh, a girl who traveled for ten kilometers from Cau Giay District to the dyke on Monday afternoon.

“I was quite surprised because today is the first day of the week, but the place is so crowded.”

The best time to take pictures with reeds is early morning and late afternoon, according to the visitors.

The embankment along the Red River section in Long Bien District, Hanoi has turned poetic recently when the reed flowers bloomed all at once, attracting many people to come and take pictures.
