Vietnam defeat Myanmar, set up ASEAN football semifinal against Indonesia

Before the game started, both teams spent a moment of silence in memory of Brazilian football legend Pele, who passed away last week. Vietnam looked poised for the last four with an early goal just eight minutes into the game. Nguyen Van Quyet conjured up a brilliant assist for Pham Tuan Hai to tap in, but before Hai could touch the ball, Zin Lwin scored an own goal. Vietnam’s goalkeeper Dang Van Lam and defense line almost brought the match back to the start by making grave mistakes in just a few minutes with wrong positioning and careless passes. However, the Myanmar players failed to convert those chances. The hosts doubled the lead in the 27th minute when Myanmar keeper Tun Nanda Oo could not catch the ball cleanly from Doan Van Hau’s cross, leaving Nguyen Tien Linh with an easy job. Vietnamese freestyle football champion makes LaLiga halftime debut

Phuc, who has accrued a sizeable following among fans on social media, including TikTok, has become the first ever Vietnamese freestyle footballer to showcase his skills at an official LaLiga match.  The performance was orchestrated by LaLiga and Deportivo Alaves, who invited a total of 16 TikTok content creators from Asia-Pacific countries to attend Sunday’s game at Alaves’s Mendizorrotza Stadium. Vietnam strikes gold at Aerobic World Cup 2023 in Japan

The Vietnamese team comprised of Le Hoang Phong, Nguyen Che Thanh, Nguyen Viet Anh, Vuong Hoai An, and Tran Ngoc Thuy Vi won a gold medal with 19,844 points in the group event, leaving behind the French team with 19,167 points and the Japanese with 18,544 points. In addition, Hoang Gia Bao, Hoang Phong, and Che Thanh brought home a silver medal in the trio category, while Hoang Phong and Thuy Vi also bagged a silver medal in the men’s and women’s doubles competition. In the individual competitions, two bronze medals went to Phan Thi Uyen Nhi in the women’s juniors and Che Thanh in the men’s singles. The Vietnamese aerobic athletes will continue to demonstrate their skills in competitions for those aged 15-17 and aged over 18.
