The Sam Son Sea Tourism Festival in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa kicks off on April 27, with the event featuring a wide range of activities such as firework displays along with light and music shows. It is expected to receive more visitors as the weather gets hotter.


The Ha Long Carnival 2024 festival is expected to offer both local and foreign guests fresh experiences with fireworks, parades, and the first-ever drone light show. The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang hosts the third International Hot-air Balloon Festival from April 27 to May 2. The festival will take place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and will involve 22 hot-air balloons flown by foreign pilots. Visitors can also experience the festival and performances put on by DJs, as well as joining exchange activities between students and pilots of international hot-air balloons from April 28 to April 30.

France allocates EUR700,000 for the refurbishment of Long Bien Bridge.

France has provided a grant of over EUR700,000 (US$763,595) to the Hanoi People’s Committee for a feasibility study on the renovation of the iconic Long Bien Bridge in Hanoi, according to the French Embassy in Vietnam. The non-refundable grant has been handed over to the Hanoi People’s Committee. The study, conducted by the French engineering firm Artelia and funded by the General Directorate of Treasury, aims to minimize the impact of the renovation on road and rail traffic. The study will propose a renovation plan compatible with the future use of Long Bien Bridge, which is currently under discussion among various departments of the Hanoi Municipality.
